SINGAPORE: Changi Airport is set to be corporatised from Wednesday and the new company that will run the airport has appointed some of its board members.
Liew Mun Leong – the president and chief executive officer of CapitaLand Limited – will chair the new airport company that has yet to be named.
He has served as chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, which previously ran Changi Airport.
The new airport company will manage operations and perform operational functions focusing on areas like airport management and commercial activities.
It will also invest in overseas airports through its subsidiary, Changi Airports International.
Other board members are Sentosa Development Corporation's CEO, Mike Barclay, and Ministry of Finance's director, Derrick Wan. Lee Seow Hiang has been named chief executive officer of the new airport company.
Other members are being appointed to the board and announcements on these appointments will be made in the future.
