SINGAPORE: Mainboard-listed Midas Holdings has made its foray into the downstream fabrication business by securing two contracts worth S$15.6 million.

Under the contracts, Midas will supply specialised fabricated aluminium alloy extrusion profiles for train car bodies and curved surface profiles for driver's cabins for China's high speed train project.

CEO Patrick Chew said the new fabrication services complement the firm's existing aluminium alloy extrusion capabilities and strengthens its ability to offer a complete suite of products and services.

He added that Midas' expansion into downstream fabrication services also provides it with additional revenue streams from existing customers and opens up opportunities for the company to attract new customers. - CNA/vm
