SINGAPORE: Mainboard-listed water solutions provider United Envirotech said Tuesday it has won a contract worth 264 million yuan (about S$54 million).

The engineering, procurement, and construction contract is to build one of China's largest municipal Membrane Bioreactor plants in Guangzhou City.

The aggregate contract value includes a one-year operations and maintenance contract for the plant.

Upon completion, the firm says the project will be one of the largest membrane bioreactor plants in China.

The plant will have a treatment capacity of 100,000 cubic metres per day.

United Envirotech says the project will be designated as one of those earmarked to improve Guangzhou's overall environmental performance.

The city is preparing to host the Asian Games in 2010

The contract is expected to be completed by June 2010 and will positively impact United Envirotech's performance in the 2010 financial year.
