SINGAPORE: StarHub said that its third quarter net profit rose 7.1 per cent to S$85.2 million from a year earlier.
This occurred on the back of a 2.4 per cent increase in operating revenue for the three months ended September to S$537.1 million.
StarHub said that it has seen a good quarter performance despite the challenging environment.
The company's fixed network services' revenue for the third quarter rose 6 per cent from a year ago, while its mobile revenue increased 5 per cent. Its pay TV revenue registered a 2 per cent growth, while its broadband revenue fell 6 per cent.
StarHub said that although recent news about the Barclays Premier League rights has created some concerns about its plans, the company intends to continue delivering the widest selection of quality content to consumers well into the future.
Looking ahead, StarHub said it expects its 2009 service revenue to be maintained at around the 2008 level, barring any unforeseen circumstances and changes in the economic and market conditions.
