SINGAPORE: Singapore-listed Thai Beverage said on Thursday that its third quarter net profit dropped 16 per cent on-year to 1.88 billion baht or about S$78.3 million.

It said the fall was due to a 5 per cent on-year decrease in revenue to 21.5 billion baht.

Thai Beverage said its international operations have continued to perform well despite concerns about the poor economy.

Overall sales for the international business have grown moderately, driven by a small improvement in overall Scotch whisky sales.

A significant improvement in sales to ASEAN and North America has also lent support to its earnings.

Thai Beverage said the international business has, overall, seen profits rise by a very satisfactory level for the year to September.
