SINGAPORE: Singapore and Georgia have signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation (DTA).
The agreement was signed on Tuesday in New York by both countries' permanent representatives to the United Nations.
This is the 15th agreement that Singapore has signed since endorsing the new standard in March this year.
Singapore's Finance Ministry said on Wednesday that the DTA will help boost bilateral trade and investment by minimising the double taxation of income that may occur as a result of bilateral cross-border economic activities.
Singapore was removed from the grey list of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development last Friday.
This came after it fulfilled the criteria of signing at least 12 agreements on the globally agreed standard for the exchange of tax information upon request.
