SINGAPORE: Mainboard-listed water treatment firm Hyflux will invest S$120 million over the next three to five years to set up a global headquarter and a new membrane production plant in Singapore.
It said on Friday it will develop the new global headquarter to serve as the nerve centre of its global operations.
The headquarter, called the Hyflux Innovation Centre, will be built on a site in Bendemeer, about 1.7 hectares in size. When completed, the centre is expected to have a gross floor area of about 32,000 square metres.
The design, research and development, as well as commercialisation centre situated there will spearhead development of advanced membrane technologies.
It will also serve as a centre for collaborative research efforts with the firm's strategic partners, the universities and research institutes.
Hyflux will also expand its production capacity in terms of membranes and process engineering systems.
The new Hyflux Production Hub, which is located in Tuas, will span about 7.7 hectares.
Both sites will be developed in phases.
The firm said the plans are not expected to have a material impact on its financials for the current financial year.
