SINGAPORE: Conglomerate Keppel Corp said on Monday it has won a US$304 million contract in Brazil through its wholly owned subsidiary, Keppel FELS Brasil.

Keppel secured contracts from Noble Corp to upgrade and repair two of its Brazil-based drillships. The scope of work covers the fabrication, repair and replacement of components.

Work on the drillships, Noble Leo Segerius and Noble Roger Eason, will be done at Keppel's BrasFELS yard in Angra dos Reis.

The two deliveries are scheduled between the last quarter of 2011 and the first half of 2012.

Both Keppel and Noble are also in advanced talks on the upgrading of a third Brazil-based drillship operated and majority-owned by Noble.

Keppel said the contracts are not expected to have any material impact on its earnings for the current financial year.
