SINGAPORE: The key Straits Times Index rose 6.96 points to 2,869.25 within minutes of trading, after gaining 22.75 points on Wednesday.
Singapore share prices ended higher on Wednesday amid a mixed bag of performance among Asian markets. Elsewhere, other Asian markets ended mixed with most major indexes almost unchanged despite strong Chinese exports figures as dealers took profits on early gains ahead of key inflation data from Beijing.
On Wednesday, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 finished flat after moving in and out of positive territory during the session. South Korea's Kospi and Taiwan's Taiex ended 0.1 per cent higher.
