SINGAPORE: Catalist-listed private medical group, Healthway Medical, said it is investing some S$40 million to set up a centre in Orchard Road.

It said it is establishing the Healthway Specialist Centre at TripleOne Somerset, located near Somerset MRT. It will be fully completed in several phases over a period of three years.

Upon completion of the project, the centre would occupy up to about 150,000 square feet and seven floors of TripleOne Somerset.

Healthway aims to develop the project into a one-stop world-class medical destination, providing specialist treatments and medical diagnostics services.

The first phase of the project on Level 2 of TripleOne Somerset will be completed in late March 2010, and will cost about S$2 million. It will anchor the firm's position as a provider of medical aesthetics, aesthetic dentistry and plastic surgery in Singapore.

A team of plastic surgeons, dental surgeons and dermatologists will provide the patients with all aspects of aesthetic and plastic surgical procedures.

Funding for phase one of the centre will come from internal financial resources and new bank borrowings.

Healthway said it will update shareholders of the source of the remaining funding for the project as and when necessary.
