SINGAPORE: The key Straits Times Index fell 7.22 points to 2,912.08 within minutes of trading, after gaining 22.87 points on Wednesday.
Singapore shares rose on Wednesday to close at their highest levels in nine weeks, following comments from the Federal Reserve indicating US interest rates are likely to stay low for an extended period.
Stronger crude oil prices pushed Singapore's offshore marine stocks higher on Wednesday. Bank stocks also ended higher.
