SINGAPORE : SMOE, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, has clinched a S$550 million contract from oil giant ConocoPhillips Skandinavia.

The company will carry out engineering, procurement and construction works for a 10,000-metric-tonne topside platform that can accommodate 552 personnel.

Other deliverables for the project include two bridges, a bridge connector and a helideck.

The platform will also feature a built-in centralised telecommunications centre and a control tower.

Construction of the project is expected to commence in the third quarter this year, with installation delivery scheduled for 2013.

On completion, it will be deployed at the Greater Ekofisk Area in the North Sea.

At location, the topside will sit above a water depth of 80 metres.

The contract is not expected to have any material impact on the earnings and net tangible assets per share this year. - CNA/ms
