SINGAPORE: The former East Shore Hospital in Joo Chiat Place has been given a S$2 million facelift. Now known as Parkway East Hospital, upgrading works took more than a year.
The 118-bed 'boutique' hospital, launched by Minister for Health Khaw Boon Wan, offers a wide range of clinical disciplines and sub-specialties.
It also has more specialist clinics to expand the range of medical services.
Dr Michael Tan, chief executive officer, Parkway East Hospital, said: "Customers have responded very positively to all these changes that have happened in this hospital which is why there's a more than 20 per cent growth in patient traffic.
"We look forward to expansion, obviously, to help partner the government in serving the local healthcare needs."
Over the next five years, Dr Tan said the hospital is planning to add an annex block that could possibly house 100 beds and 20 medical suites. - CNA/vm
