Singapore: The iPad is set for release in Singapore on Friday July 23.
Both the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+3G versions of the iPad will be on sale and local telco SingTel has confirmed that it will be rolling out dedicated iPad price plans.
"SingTel will offer an affordable range of plans to both existing and new customers to meet their different usage needs" said a spokesman.
The iPad data plans will be revealed on Friday both at the SingTel website as well as at Apple Premium Resellers and SingTel stores and Exclusive Retailers where customers can also sign up.
Apple,in announcing details of the iPad release, said both the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+ 3G iPad will be on sale at Apple Authorized Resellers.
Pricing for the iPad will be between S$728 for the Wi-Fi 16GB model, and S$1028 for the top end 64GB Wi-Fi.
As for the 16GB Wi-Fi+3G model, Apple said it should retail at S$928 and the 64GB Wi-Fi+3G model comes in at S$1228.
There is also the 32GB iPad which should retail at S$878 for the Wi-Fi model and S$1078 for the Wi-Fi+3G.
In releasing details, Apple said two other Asia-Pacific markets, New Zealand and Hong Kong, will also be offering the iPad from July 23 as well as Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico and the Netherlands.
There's been no word as to when local online iPad sales will roll out along the lines of the earlier releases in the US,Australia and Japan.
On the Singapore grey market for the iPad, models acquired from earlier launches in the US and Australia have been on sale for the past few months with a mark-up of about S$200.
The iPad which was first launched in June allows users to read ebooks with its Multi-Touch user interface as well as connect via apps like those made for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Apple which has said the iPad will roll out to many more countries later this year, is also set to soon release its latest iPhone 4.
