STATS ChipPAC proposes capital reduction exercise

SINGAPORE : Mainboard-listed chip tester STATS ChipPAC is proposing a capital reduction and cash distribution exercise for its shareholders.

It said on Thursday that it will call an extraordinary general meeting at 2pm on September 27 at the Orchid Country Club on the matter.

STATS ChipPAC is proposing to reduce the issued share capital of the firm by US$600 million.

The capital reduction will be effected by returning shareholders about 27 US cents in cash for each issued ordinary stock.

Temasek Holdings is a major shareholder of STATS ChipPAC.
