SGX derivatives trading volume up 19% in August

SINGAPORE : Derivatives trading volume at the Singapore Exchange (SGX) grew by 19 per cent last month to 5.3 million contracts.

Overall options trading volume increased on-year to 24,000 contracts, compared to 3,000 contracts a year ago.

AsiaClear achieved 132 per cent on-year increase, with about 17,000 contracts cleared.

In the Securities market, SGX said the daily average value for last month was S$1.5 billion, up 10 per cent from July.

SGX said it will include new data such as the number of listings and market turnover in its September monthly statistics report.
