SilkAir appoints new CEO

SINGAPORE: SilkAir has appointed Mr Marvin Tan as its new Chief Executive Officer from October 11.

He's currently Singapore Airline's divisional vice president for customer services.

Recently, Mr Tan also joined SilkAir as a Board Director in June 1, 2010.

The 39-year-old has been with Singapore Airlines for over 14 years.

He held various positions like vice president for ground services and was the general manager for the UK and Ireland operations.

Mr Tan takes over from Mr Chin Yau Seng.

Mr Chin will return to Singapore Airlines as Divisional Vice President for cabin crew operations.

In a statement, SilkAir Chairman, Goh Choon Phong thanked Mr Chin for his dedication and efforts in making SilkAir one of the leading regional carriers in Asia. - CNA/fa
