SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines' charity auction for its first A380 flight will start next Monday, 27 August.

The auction is for both legs of the first flight.

The plane will depart from Singapore to Sydney on 25 October and return the day after.

SIA says a majority of seats for both legs will be auctioned on eBay for two weeks.

The starting bid price for Economy Class seats is US$3.80.

For Business Class, bids will start at US$38 and for Singapore Airlines Suites, it will be US$380.

Pre-qualification is required for bids in the Business Class and Suites or bids over US$1,000 in Economy Class.

This ensures bids are not artificially inflated and that the bidders are genuine.

All proceeds of the auction will be donated to various charities.
