SINGAPORE: The world's first FIFA store is going to open at Changi Airport's new Terminal 3, which will officially open on January 9.

The store will be located at the Terminal's Departure/Transit mall on the second level.

"Changi is a great aviation hub for international travellers around the world, and football is the number one international sport in the world. This is the perfect combination of the number one sport and the number one airport location," said Global Brands Group's senior vice-president of retail, Martin Darby.

Although Changi's two other terminals also boast sports merchandise outlets, the company behind the new FIFA shop claimed that the new outlet promises something different.

"You are absolutely assured of something very different. Different products, very stylish, very different merchandising environment and something that you won't see anywhere else in the world," said Mr Darby.

The exclusive range will be complemented by other sports products from Adidas.

The store will be officially opened on January 16, and more such outlets are expected to follow in other parts of the world. - CNA/ac
