SINGAPORE : Some market traders experienced delays in trade on Friday, after a data feed linking their order management system to the Singapore Exchange broke down.

In a statement shortly before the close of trade, the SGX said the problem was due to connectivity issues at the primary telecoms provider and that the situation has been resolved.

Traders reported problems accessing price quotes and queued orders from their centralised order management system, known as GL Trade.

The platform is used to exchange data and orders through the exchange. Without the information, traders would not have sufficient information in which to complete trades.

The SGX in now in the process of upgrading its systems, after having been plagued by several trading glitches in recent months. - CNA/ms
