SINGAPORE: Tiger Aviation, which owns and operates budget carrier Tiger Airways, has appointed Rosalynn Tay as its new managing director, effective May 1.

Ms Tay has been the company's group chief commercial and marketing officer since February 2006.

As managing director, she will be responsible for the operations and development of the group's largest operational base at Changi Airport.

She takes over from Chris Ward, who is now MD of Tiger Airways Australia.

Ms Tay said: "I look forward to my new role as a dedicated MD for Tiger Airways Singapore and the opportunity to take the airline to new heights.

"The Singapore operations have been the backbone of the Tiger Airways Group and I'm honoured to now be at its helm."
