SINGAPORE: Asia Environment Holdings has agreed to build six wastewater treatment plants for the Danyang municipal government in China's Jiangsu province.

No financial details were given in its stock exchange filing.

Under a preliminary agreement, Asia Environment will build and operate the plants in the towns of Fangxian, Daoshu, Erling, Xinqiao, Houxiang and Shitu in Jiangsu province for 30 years.

It will also install 48 kilometres of connecting pipes.

The plants can treat about 140,000 cubic metres of wastewater a day when they are fully operational.

Asia Environment will form a US$12 million company in China to undertake the project.

The latest project is expected to have a positive impact on the company's consolidated net tangible assets and earnings per share for the financial year ending December 31, 2008.
