SINGAPORE: ST Marine had won a contract worth about S$128 million to build and outfit a diving support vessel to serve the oil and gasoline industry.

The company did not name the foreign customer which awarded the contract.

Construction of the vessel is scheduled to begin in January next year and delivery is planned for mid-2010.

The vessel can accommodate 100 people. It will have a 140-tonne subsea crane and two remotely operated vehicles to support diving operations.

This contract is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering, the parent of ST Marine, for the current financial year. - CNA/vm
