SINGAPORE: Agricultural business group Wilmar International has booked record earnings for the third quarter.

Net profit for the three months ended September 30 came in at US$482.6 million, up by 147 per cent year-on-year.

Revenue jumped by 67 per cent to US$8.35 billion.

Wilmar attributed the jump in earnings to strong growth in sales volume as well as improved margins.

For the first nine months, net profit amounted to US$1.2 billion, up by 234 per cent on-year. Revenue for the same period rose by 134 per cent to US$23.3 billion.

Looking ahead, the firm intends to continue to pursue a strategy of cost efficiency through economies of scale and organisational integration.
