SINGAPORE: Established beauty and cosmetics chain Sephora, which has 1,000 stores in 24 countries, is due to open in Singapore.

The first store will open at Ngee Ann City on December 19.

French luxury group LVMH is teaming up with Singapore-listed retailer RSH Limited in a joint venture to roll out the stores.

The issued capital is S$4.3 million, with RHS holding a 40 per cent stake.

Founded in France, Sephora is a beauty-retail concept store that sells over 200 brands of skincare, fragrance and cosmetics products.

RHS says the outlook for the beauty and cosmetics industry is encouraging, and an expansion into the segment is a natural extension of its fashion business.

Currently, RHS operates labels like Zara, Mango and Massimo Dutti in Singapore.
