SINGAPORE: Airlines and airport partners at Singapore's Changi Airport will get some help amid the global economic downturn.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is extending the existing Air Hub Development Fund for another year to 31 December 2009.
The fund will also have an expanded budget of S$130 million.
This is a 30 per cent increase over the budget allocated for years 2006 to 2008.
The extended incentive package for next year will include a 25 per cent landing fee rebate for airlines operating flights at Changi Airport and Seletar Airport.
This is 10 percentage points higher than the rebate offered currently.
CAAS says this is a one-time economic relief measure introduced for 2009.
In addition, it will also continue to provide 15 per cent rental rebate for all tenants of offices, airline lounges and warehouses at Changi Airport and Seletar Airport.
The package will also encourage airlines to extend their network and capacity or drive traffic to and through Changi Airport.
