SINGAPORE: Many people struck by lightning never live to tell their tale.

Carolyn Lim, however, survived a lightning strike and now shares her experiences through her new book "Making Pink Lemonade".

She was windsurfing three years ago when she was struck by lightning. Since the incident, she has difficulty walking and even feeding herself.

A fitness enthusiast before the incident, she would actively work out at the gym and even took up belly-dancing classes.

After the incident, it has been a long road to recovery for her, and there were even times when she contemplated suicide.

She had also asked her then-boyfriend William Ng to leave her. The two are now married.

Carolyn said her parents and husband gave her inspiration to live. She hopes her new book will inspire others facing similar difficulties.

"Sharing my experience through the past three years, I hope that the things that I have seen, the observations, feelings, perceptions that I have realised....I hope that all these can make a difference to any reader who picks up the book," Carolyn said.
