SINGAPORE : More than 14,000 women took part in the annual Great Eastern 10km event on Sunday morning.

The Great Eastern Run is dubbed Asia's largest all-women running event.

It is now into its fourth year, and the scenic route took participants past iconic sights like the Flyer and the Esplanade.

The run is part of the Marina Bay Urban Challenge.

Kenyan Leah Malot crossed the finish line first in 33 minutes 56 seconds.

International ambassadors from the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Pakistan took part in the 5km category.

They also helped the run raise funds for the "Women Against Cancer" initiative. - CNA/ms
