SINGAPORE: The Workforce Development Agency is allocating an additional S$3 million to the Best Sourcing Initiative Early Adopters Scheme (BEAS) launched in July.

It is encouraged by the high take up for the scheme. To date, S$900,000 in BEAS' incentive grant has been awarded to 11 organisations. That is almost half the S$2 million initially allocated.

The grants are meant to help companies defray the costs incurred in adopting BSI practices as organisations pay more for better quality service.

The grant will continue to be administered by the Employment and Employability Institute and Unit for Contract and Casual Workers.

The two organisations have been working closely with industry players to adopt best sourcing of cleaning, building maintenance, security and landscaping services. - 938LIVE/vm
