SINGAPORE: Five young men, aged between 17 and 20, are in the dock in the High Court for the rape and sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.

The alleged incident took place on December 26 last year in a flat in Woodlands.

Prosecutors alleged on Tuesday that the accused persons got the victim drunk in the apartment, then took turns to rape and sexually assault her.

The victim, who is now 18, is known to one of the accused.

More than 50 witnesses, including the victim, her father and boyfriend, will be called by the prosecution during the eight-day trial.
