SINGAPORE: Visitor arrivals to Singapore dipped 0.5 per cent in the month of October, a month after it registered its first growth for the year.

The Singapore Tourism Board said some 845,000 tourists visited Singapore in October.

Visitors from Indonesia, China, Australia, Malaysia and India made up 52 per cent of the arrivals.

Visitors from China recorded its first growth since May last year, spurred by an unprecedented eight-day Golden Week holiday.

Hotels recorded an average occupancy rate of almost 83 per cent, the highest for the year. - CNA/vm
