SINGAPORE : Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew will be in Vietnam for a five-day official visit from January 16-20.

The visit is at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and will cover the capital Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In Hanoi, Mr Lee will meet Mr Nguyen and Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet.

He will also meet the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nong Duc Manh and senior members of the Vietnamese government.

Mr Lee will next visit Ho Chi Minh City as well as the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park in Binh Duong Province.

He will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister of State for Finance and Transport Lim Hwee Hua, Minister of State for Trade and Industry S Iswaran, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education Masagos Zulkifli and other senior government officials. - CNA /ls
