SINGAPORE: Laotian Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh will make an introductory visit to Singapore at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The three-day visit - from 28th to 30th January - is Mr Bouasone's first visit to the Republic since his appointment as Prime Minister in June 2006.

He will be accompanied by Soulivong Daravong, President of the Committee of Planning and Investment, Education Minister Somkot Mangnomek, Industry and Commerce Minister Nam Vignaket and senior officials.

During his visit, Mr Bouasone will call on President S R Nathan and Prime Minister Lee and he will also be hosted to an official dinner at the Istana.

The Laotian delegation is expected to meet Singapore businessmen and visit a JTC logistics park. - CNA/so
