SINGAPORE: The Foreign Affairs Ministry has reiterated that the Singapore-Indonesia Extradition Treaty and Defence Cooperation Agreement should be linked together and negotiated in parallel, as one package.

That was what Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo said in Parliament on Monday.

The Ministry was responding to queries on remarks made by Secretary-General of the Indonesian Department of Foreign Affairs.

Secretary-General Imron Cotan had been reported as saying in The Jakarta Post, that "if the negotiations on extradition have been concluded, then it should be signed first". - CNA/so
