SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sought clarification from the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore on media reports that Indonesia is planning to ban granite exports.
It met Mr Andradjati, Indonesia's Charge d'Affaires Ad Interim, on Monday morning and asked about Indonesian State Minister of Environment Rachmat Witoelar's recent comments on granite exports.
A report in the Batam Pos last week quoted Mr Rachmat as saying the Indonesian government would issue a regulation banning the export of granite and materials to Singapore.
The report added that the proposed ban had been approved at the Cabinet level.
