SINGAPORE : By the year 2010, future students of the National University of Singapore (NUS) can look forward to an impressive campus.

The "University Town @ Warren" project is estimated to cost S$500 million to S$600 million to develop.

It is an extension of the Kent Ridge Campus and will include academic and learning facilities, sports and leisure as well as contemporary hostel accommodation for up to 6,000 students.

Also in the works are commercial, retail and lifestyle facilities.

The University Town will be financed, designed, constructed and operated by private sector organisations for a period of 25 to 30 years.

NUS will be responsible for the delivery of education services.

A total of five bids from various consortia, made up of local and international expert entities, have been received.

These Consortia and their key partners include:
- Plenary Learning consisting of Plenary Group / Deutsche Bank and ISS Facility Services
- UniLiving consisting of Macquarie Bank, Shimizu Construction, CPG Corporation
- Campus Living Villages consisting of Campus Living Villages, China Constructions Keppel FMO/ Campus Living
- Gammon Capital consisting of Gammon Capital, Gammon Construction / Woh Hup, United Premas
- Living Education consisting of Babcock and Brown, Sembawang Contractors, Serco Guthrie / Honeywell / Uni-Lodge
