SINGAPORE: The Society for the Physically Disabled or SPD on Sunday held its first charity show to raise S$5 million.
The stars turned out in full force - all for a good cause.
Actor Christopher Lee, in his first public appearance since his recent release from prison, folded paper cranes as part of his contribution to help raise money.
International celebrities showed off their singing and acting skills, while the physically-disabled also proved their strengths by painting works of art and using feet to fold origami.
The SPD Charity Show aims to raise money to help expand its services with the opening of a new centre.
As of 9pm Sunday, some 196,000 calls were made to pledge donations. - CNA/yy
