DALIAN, CHINA: Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong has met Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Dalian.
The Singapore leader last met Mr Modi last October when the Chief Minister visited Singapore to attend the Global Entrepolis 2006.
Before that, Mr Goh also met him in January 2006 when Mr Goh visited India.
During the latest meeting, Mr Modi briefed the Senior Minister on the economic development in Gujarat and the two leaders also discussed opportunities for economic cooperation between Singapore and Gujarat.
Later in the day, Senior Minister Goh will be meeting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
High on the agenda is the eco-city bilateral project first mooted by Mr Goh when he last met Premier Wen in April this year.
It will be a project tapping on Singapore's urban planning and environmental management to help create an environmentally-friendly Chinese city. - CNA/ir
