SINGAPORE: Wakeboarding is making a splash locally, and over the weekend, Kallang River saw action from some regional competitors.

The "Red Bull Kicker Jam" saw competitors from Japan, Korea, Thailand and China taking part.

Singapore's top wakeboarders, Sasha Christian and his brother Max, were also in action.

But homeground advantage did not help them as top honours in most of the categories went to the Japanese and Koreans.

The event promoted Singapore as a destination for Asian pro-riders to train during winter.
