SINGAPORE: Singapore's bid to host the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in 2010 got a boost from international students at the Nanyang Technological University.

Eight torch bearers representing different international contingents celebrated NTU's International Games which opened on Saturday and at the same time supporting Singapore's bid.

The final torch bearer was Parliamentary Secretary Teo Ser Luck who's been at the forefront of Singapore's bid.

NTU said the international contingents at its own games, highlight the diverse youth culture in the local varsities.

Singapore and Moscow are the two cities shortlisted to host the Games and the decision on the winner will be made in February. -CNA/vm
