SINGAPORE: The National University of Singapore's (NUS) law faculty has received almost S$330,000 in donations.

The money will be used for scholarships, bursaries and prizes for its law undergraduates.

Law firm, TSMP Law Corporation, was among the biggest donors. It provided S$50,000 to set up the TSMP Law Corporation Scholarship.

NUS will give out ten of these scholarships to second and third-year undergraduates each year.

Scholars will get a two-week internship with TSMP Law Corporation and another two weeks at its joint venture firm, Allens Arthur Robinsons TSMP.

Donations also came from other law firms as well as the faculty's alumni.

Senior Counsel and Dean of NUS Faculty of Law, Professor Tan Cheng Han, said the valuable support received would help NUS continue to provide a "rigorous and broad-based legal education to bright students, regardless of their financial circumstances".
