SINGAPORE: India is looking at setting up an Indian institute of technology in Singapore.

This was revealed by Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at the end of his visit to India.

The issue was brought up during his meeting with India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday.

Mr Goh said the two leaders also spoke about having an open skies policy between India and ASEAN, which Mr Singh was very interested to implement.

The Senior Minister added that Singapore would also like to set up an education institute in India, preferably to be built in a new special economic zone.

Mr Goh said the new zone will be set up by Business Park developer and manager, Ascendas.
