SINGAPORE: The governments of Singapore and Russia are happy with the growing business links between the two countries.

Both sides are also looking at how to further expand bilateral economic ties.

This was discussed when Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong met Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Naryshkin on Tuesday. Mr Goh hosted the Russian leader to lunch at the Istana.

Mr Goh's press secretary said in a statement that the two leaders had a friendly exchange of views on a wide range of issues. These included recent developments in Asia, Singapore and Russia.

Earlier in the morning, Mr Naryshkin delivered the keynote address, titled "Russia of Tomorrow", at the Third Russia-Singapore Business Forum, organised by IE Singapore and Russia's Troika Dialog. - CNA/ir
