SINGAPORE: The National Wages Council (NWC) is inviting the public and organisations to offer their views on wage guidelines. This is to help the NWC in its deliberations on wage and wage-related guidelines for 2008/2009.
The NWC - which is chaired by Professor Lim Pin - will start its deliberations in mid-April.
In its deliberations, the council will consider relevant factors such as global and regional economic performance and outlook, Singapore's cost competitiveness against other countries, labour market conditions, productivity, and rewards to workers for their contribution.
Members of the public and organisations are invited to provide feedback on wage and wage-related matters including issues related to the employment and employability of older and low-wage workers.
