SINGAPORE: Environment and Water Resources Minister and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Dr Yaacob Ibrahim will visit Saudi Arabia from 29 April to 3 May 2008.

The ministry and the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, MUIS (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura), said in a joint statement that Dr Yaacob will attend the annual Haj ministerial meeting with the Saudi Minister of Haj, Dr Fouad bin Abdulsalam Al-Farsy.

The two ministers will discuss arrangements for Singaporean pilgrims performing the Haj in November 2008.

Dr Yaacob will also meet the Saudi Minister for Water and Electricity Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hussayen and the Saudi Minister for Commerce and Industry Abdullah bin Ahmed Zainal Alireza.

Dr Yaacob will be accompanied by senior MUIS officials. - CNA/vm
