SINGAPORE : Singapore's first solo exhibition of French modern master Henri Matisse's works opened on May 8 at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute.

The launch was attended by the artist's great grandson Jean-Matthieu Matisse.

The S$5 million collection is on loan from the estate of Henri Matisse. It includes some 52 prints, three drawings and a painting.

The exhibition is supported by the French Embassy and is part of the "Encore! European Season", which is an 8-month-long culture and arts festival by the embassies of European Union countries.

The exhibition is on till August 16. Admission is free and the gallery is open from 10am-6pm from Tuesdays to Saturdays. - CNA /ls
