SINGAPORE: Parents of Primary 6 students will have an additional channel of submitting their child’s school preference choices for the Direct School Admission (Secondary) (DSA-Sec) exercise this year. Parents can now go online to submit their child's school preference choices.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) said that ten more schools will directly admit some students to secondary one this year, bringing the total number to 66.

National Junior College, which has an integrated programme, is extending its four-year programme to six years, so it will admit Seconday 1 students from the exercise to enter in 2009.

The other nine secondary schools with niche programmes are: Ang Mo Kio, Anglo-Chinese School (Barker), Bowen, Manjusri, Pasir Ris, Riverside, Springfield, Woodlands Ring and Zhenghua.

Between June and August, schools will conduct their own selection exercise.

In the last week of October, students will then indicate their school preferences, based on offers or waiting list placements they have received either online or through hardcopy forms at their primary schools.

The results will then be released together with the Primary School Leaving Examination results in late November.
