SINGAPORE: After ending his two-day visit to Jordan on Tuesday, Education Minister Ng Eng Hen will visit Israel from 13-16 May.

In Jordan, Dr Ng met his Jordanian counterpart Tayseer Nueimi, and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Omar Shdeifat, and Labour Minister Bassem Salem. They discussed further collaborations in education.

Dr Ng is visiting Israel at the invitation of his Israeli counterpart Yuli Tamir.

Besides visiting schools, he will attend the Israeli Presidential Conference, hosted by President Shimon Peres.

The three-day conference, from 13-15 May, commemorates the 60th anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel.

Dr Ng, who is also second minister for defence, will be accompanied by Non-Resident Ambassador to Israel Lieutenant General (Retired) Winston Choo and officials from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. - CNA/ac
