SINGAPORE : Singaporeans can indulge in the cultural richness of Vietnam in a four-month long 'Vietnam Festival'.
The event also commemorates 35 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Vietnam.
It was jointly officiated by Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Pham Gia Khiem, and Singapore's Foreign Minister, George Yeo, on Tuesday.
A key highlight of the festival is an exhibition at the Asian Civilisations Museum titled 'Vietnam: From Myth to Modernity'.
The exhibition explores 2,500 years of Vietnamese civilisation and showcases the craftsmanship of bronze drums and weapons, Hindu and Buddhist sculptures, ceramics and woodblock prints.
More than 180 artefacts are on loan from museums in Vietnam and private collections.
The exhibition is on till the end of September. - CNA/de
