SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Singapore is committed to help Rwanda in its efforts to improve public administration and governance. Mr Lee was speaking at a dinner in honour of the visiting President of Rwanda on Wednesday.

President Paul Kagame is on his first four-day official visit to Singapore, which ends on May 23. He is here at the invitation of Mr Lee.

At a dinner on Wednesday, Mr Lee said both Singapore and Rwanda are working together in areas such as workforce development, social security and civil aviation.

Mr Lee added that relations between the two countries are "in good shape", and although business and economic links are still modest, there is potential to grow the relationship and promote new areas for cooperation.

President Kagame said Singapore and Rwanda are both small countries with few natural resources. He added that Singapore's achievements are an inspiration to Rwanda. - CNA/vm
